Henry attended Indiana State University where he obtained his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Sports Management where he had a full scholarship to play Division One tennis in college for the Indiana Sycamores at Indiana State.
He continues to compete and has been in the top 10 in Canadian Men’s Open Singles throughout the past 15 years. He was named Tennis BC Player of the Year in 2007, 2010, and 2019. Henry was recipient of a Tennis Canada Excellence Award in 2017 and 2018 and was awarded as Tennis Canada National Junior Champion Coach 2023.
Henry represented Canada at the ITF Masters World Team Championships for 4 years. In June 2019, after winning 5 ITF Championships in 6 months, he reached a career high of #1 in the World, ITF Men’s 35 Singles, a first in BC and 2nd in Canadian history. In 2022 Henry won the Gold Medal at the ITF Masters Individual Championships and reached #1 in the World, ITF Men’s 40 doubles.
Henry is a Tennis Canada certified Level 3 Professional. He was the Junior Director at Vancouver Lawn Tennis and Badminton Club from 2006 through 2011. Henry joined the Richmond Country Club after that, to become the Director of Racquets and Athletics. During his tenure coaching at both clubs, he spent countless hours with players ranging from top ranked international, national, and provincial levels as well as non-competing club players. In 2020 he was named Tennis BC’s High Performance Coach of the Year.
Henry has a lifelong passion for the game of tennis and wants to provide opportunities for other players to achieve their goals and continues to grow the sport of tennis in BC.
